PART 2 Beryllium Tube sockets / Teflon Sockets and parts
These tube sockets are new on the market, and offer very good value for the money. Contact "feel" is pleasant, and very tight still. The principle here is a special ring of Beryllium fitted into the pin sleeve, making the contact. This has multiple contact, which self cleaning. Any dirt particles will find it's place between the ripples, and not on he contact surface. The pin sleeve that you can see when looking into the socket has a fraction wider diameter than the contact crown itself. This gives the good function of the contact, there is no such scratching on the tube pins, as compared with lower cost sockets that have fork contacts.
.
This drawing is to show the Beryllium contact ring position. The
socket construction
itself is only a sample. Octal, Noval, etc, they
are all different. The Beryllium crown ring
is always the same though, and offers many parallel slide contacts.

You can nicely see the
Beryllium contacts inside.
