This is special mounting hardware is used to avoid resonances to be passed
from one part to the other. The rubber part is made of special silicone
material with a high damping factor. With those you can ideally
isolate parts with mechanical sensitivity from the chassis.
So preamplifier printed circuit boards with tubes can nicely be isolated
like this. Also you can isolate tube sockets with these.
This will take away a great part of the mechanical chassis coupling.
Many transformers give mechanical hum vibrations to the chassis.
These can not be heard with the ear directly, but... the pre-amp
tubes catch this hum noise via the mechanical path. Then from the
speakers you will hear the hum noise. Use this anti-vibration
mounting hardware, and you will reduce the effect. |

This picture shows the extreme mechanical quality of the damping rubber.
It is almost impossible to break it, no matter how hard you pull it or
twist it. A tube socket for miniature tubes, like
ECC83, will stand still quite stabile when mounted on two of those. |

Yamamoto Air Ventilation adapter, what you get when you order one. Very high quality screw set is included. (Screws for Yamamoto Tube socket, and screws for chassis mounting of the Yamamoto Air Ventilation adapter |

This is one possible way to use the Yamamoto Air Ventilation adapter. The Chassis dampers and tube socket need to be purchased separate, these are not supplied with the Yamamoto Air Ventilation adapter. This method give best vibration isolation you can get. If you know a better way, let us know! |
